AXIS International Rehabilitation Center specializes in neuroorthopedic rehabilitation of children and adults with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Our specialists have many years of experience from the best rehabilitation clinics in Europe, what allowed us to form a team combining the most effective techniques from Austria, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Russian and Ukrainian medicine.

AXIS Medical rehabilitation center is located on the Spa Island in Piešťany, in one of the largest and most unique spa complexes in Europe. Our intensive neurorehabilitation program includes hydrokinesiotherapy and uses local natural healing resources such as thermal mineral water and sulfur mud.

Our programs

Diagnostic medical consultation from the 1st month of life for premature and at-risk children.

Early rehabilitation for children with delayed development and children with cerebral palsy. A two-week early intervention program for children from 6 months to 2 years. A team of experts practices with the child 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week.

AXIS Baby goals

Give impetus to proper physiological development with regard to the individual peculiarities and age of the child. Stop the development of pathological symptoms and incorrect motor habits in the musculoskeletal system. Improve cognitive skills and speech through proper motor development. Set up and teach parents how to exercise individually with their child at home.

Rehab is a comprehensive polymodal neurorehabilitation programme created for patients with all forms of cerebral palsy, patients with the consequences of acute disorder of cerebral circulation and craniocerebral injuries. Depending on the nature of prevailing symptom complex, the emphasis is laid on reducing spasticity, normalization of muscle tone, increasing volume of passive and active movements in the joints, improving blood circulation, metabolism and tissue trophism and on acquiring or restoring of locomotor and psychomotor skills.

Course duration is from 2 to 8 weeks.

Treatment plan, intensity and duration of the programme is guided by attending physician together with the rehabilitation team in detailed assessment and dynamic monitoring of the rehabilitation potential and compensation abilities of patient’s body.

Rehab Plus is the busiest and most intense comprehensive polymodal neurorehabilitation programme designed for patients with all forms of cerebral palsy, patients with the consequences of acute cerebral circulation disorder and craniocerebral injuries. Depending on the nature of prevailing symptom complex, the emphasis is laid on reducing spasticity, normalization of muscle tone, increasing volume of passive and active movements in the joints, improving blood circulation, metabolism and tissue trophics, acquiring or restoring of locomotor and psychomotor skills, training to use assistive technology and much more.

Course duration is from 2 to 8 weeks.

Spinal is a comprehensive polymodal neurorehabilitation programme designed for patients with the consequences of fractures and injuries to the spine and spinal cord, disorders of blood supply to the spine cord. Such injuries are often suffered by young people during road accidents, extreme sports and military operations. Start of rehabilitation programme in the early postoperative phase (a year after an injury, surgery) and its regular systematic implementation leads to stimulation of compensatory abilities of the body, which is able to prevent deep disability, allows a person to adjust to new living conditions and to take a full advantage of active social life, even with limited physical abilities. This programme helps patients regain their independence and avoid complications. The purpose of this rehabilitation programme is to ensure social and everyday independence, return to a normal way of life (household activities, self-care skills, active social life).

It is achieved by means of improving metabolic processes, normalization of hemodynamic parameters, prevention or reduction of bedsores and contractures, by facilitation of patient movements, strengthening weak muscles, movement training with the help of rehabilitation means, pain relief and successful verticalization.

Learn to change body position independently, be able to sit or stand from bed, get into a wheelchair, walk with crutches and use orthoses, restore movement stereotypes and much more.

Cognitive is a complex polymodal neurorehabilitation programme designed for patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), genetic syndromes, delay in psycho-speech development, alalia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning difficulties and other problems. Multidisciplinary specialists help children reach their full potential, get the opportunity to fully interact with the surrounding world and develop self-care skills.

Rehabilitation plan is developed by our specialists individually taking into account the characteristics of child’s behaviour, progression of child’s state of health in the process of corrective measures. Parents can get individual and family psychological counselling, learn to better understand each other and their child and solve internal problems and gain confidence in themselves and their child. A patient undergoes psychological, psychotherapeutic, logopedic correction, as well as movement rehabilitation.

Course duration is from 2 to 4 weeks.

Ortho is a complex polymodal neurorehabilitation programme designed for patients with various vertebrological diseases. It is aimed at overcoming pain syndromes, posture correction, social and domestic adaptation of patients and improving the quality of life. An individual rehabilitation program is developed for each patient, taking into consideration consequences of damage and physical, mental and neurological status.

The patient is given personal recommendations regarding monitoring and correction of static positions, further movement regimen and volume load.
